My homeowner's premium is going up by 72%. When I questioned my agent he gave all the standard answers (inflation, more national disasters, etc) He also said that Arizona allows a "random" allocation of these increases across their customers. So "some homeowners got a decrease, some got 30% increase and yours happens to be 72%." He emphasized that the increases are random and homes next door to each other could have totally different percent changes even though the carrier is the came.
My question: Is this "random" application of increases true? Should I file a complaint with the Arizona regulatory agency?
